Powerful New Tools for Global Research Data Management

We’ve built myLaminin with a clear goal: to make research data management (RDM) easier, more secure, and more collaborative—regardless of discipline or project size.

In our last update, we said we were approaching “the last mile” in delivering a fully integrated RDM platform. We’re excited to share that we’ve not only reached it—we’ve gone beyond.

Today, myLaminin offers one of the most complete and compliance-ready RDM solutions available, built to support researchers working across institutions, time zones, and disciplines.

ORCID Integration
Researchers can now log in using their ORCID iD, automatically syncing their profile and publication history. This makes attribution smoother and strengthens connections across platforms.

Expanded Metadata Support
We’ve added support for key metadata standards like DataCite, DDI, and Dublin Core—making it easier to version datasets, prepare for repository submission, and boost discoverability.

Librarian Review Workflows
Research librarians can now step in before publication to validate metadata directly in the platform, helping improve data quality and ensure compliance with funder and institutional requirements.

One-Click Dataset Publishing
You can now publish datasets straight from myLaminin to trusted repositories like Harvard Dataverse, Borealis, or our own Open Science Search (OSS)—helping meet FAIR and Open Science standards with minimal effort.

From secure storage and access controls to streamlined publishing and librarian workflows, these updates bring even more clarity, structure, and scale to the way researchers manage and share data.

Whether you're managing a single study or coordinating a global research network, myLaminin helps bring everything—and everyone—together.

"What myLaminin has brought to market is a unique solution that solves a real
problem for researchers and research-intensive institutions managing sensitive
research data, and it’s an excellent use of blockchain technology with the
potential to solve the research repeatability challenge."

- Joshua Gans, Professor at the Rotman School of Management,
University of Toronto Chief Economist of Creative Destruction Lab

We’ve Integrated RAiD — A First in Research Data Platforms

We're excited to share that in the next few days myLaminin will be one of the first vendors in the world to integrate the Australian Research Data Commons’ (ARDC) Research Activity Identifier (RAiD)!

RAiD is a globally unique and persistent identifier that ties together everything connected to a research project: people, data, software, institutions, and outputs. It’s a simple but powerful way to keep research activities organized, traceable, and transparent throughout the entire lifecycle of a project.

As research becomes more global, collaborative, and interdisciplinary, having a tool like RAiD helps researchers:

  • Track and verify - Keep track of who did what, when, and where — even across institutions and time zones

  • Enhance transparency - Link preprints, peer reviews, and datasets back to a single project

  • Enable global coordination - Meet growing demands for openness, reproducibility, and compliance

Now with myLaminin, institutions can become service points through the myLaminin platform to create and register a RAiD in conjunction with research project initiation on the myLaminin platform — no extra steps, no extra tools. It’s one more way we’re helping researchers make their work more connected, citable, and visible.

We’re proud to support the global research community with tools built for the way distributed science (DeSi) is done today. And we’re just getting started.

Coming Soon to myLaminin: Survey Participant Randomization for Clinical Research

If you're still relying on outdated data collection tools, now’s a good time to rethink your setup.

The myLaminin eSurvey module already offers a modern, flexible alternative—complete with built-in medical templates, ontology support, longitudinal and classical survey formats, PHI and consent management, and participant grouping—all in an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop interface.

Next up: participant randomization.

We’re excited to be rolling out support for Stratified randomization in the coming weeks. This means you’ll soon be able to manage participant allocation for clinical trials directly within myLaminin—no external tools or workarounds required. With this update, myLaminin moves one step closer to being a full-service platform for clinical and research teams managing complex studies. Whether you're working in public health, biomedical research, or the social sciences, we’re building tools that help you do more—securely, at scale, and without the usual friction.

Coming Soon

We will be adding a new page to our website shortly with some useful RDM tools including an RDM Compliance Self-Assessment for leaders at Higher Education research institutions, an RDM ROI Calculator to help institutions gauge what kind of ROI they can expect by adopting a secure RDM platform, and some other useful items.
